Editorial Policy

This page explains how the Vipid blog researches, writes, checks and updates its articles.

Sources

We start from primary sources: a vendor’s own documentation, release notes and pricing pages; a platform’s own help centre and specification pages; and official announcements. Where we cite a number (a size, a bitrate, a price, a limit), we link the page it came from. We don’t use other publishers’ reviews as proof of a fact.

What our labels mean

Articles carry a dated label that says exactly what was checked: Spec-checked (sizes, formats and limits confirmed on the official pages on that date) or Pricing-checked (plans, free-tier limits and watermarks confirmed on that date). We don’t describe a tool as “tested” unless we say how.

Updates

Video tools and platform specs change often. We re-check spec and pricing tables every 60 to 90 days and whenever a vendor announces a change. Each article shows when it was published and when it was last updated.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction on the article. See our corrections page.

Independence

We don’t accept payment to include, rank or review a tool. If an article ever contains a sponsored placement or an affiliate link, it is labelled as such where it appears.

Bylines

Articles are published under the names of the Vipid Team editors, each responsible for one desk. Bylines and author pages are maintained by the Vipid editorial team.
